How SocialSpark Gets Everyone Talking

Image
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of IZEA . All opinions are 100% mine. Yesterday I made the conscious decision to further promote my blog in order to get more readers and followers. I really enjoy the art of writing and as such I believe that blogs are a very effective medium of communication for sharing ideas and knowledge with people from all different walks of life. In my search for tools to promote my blog I was introduced to SocialSpark by my dear friend Navjot - I must confess that until that moment I was not familiar with SocialSpark or their services. However, my eagerness to learn pushed me to join them almost immediately after finding out what they were all about. The sign up process was very straight-forward and the overall layout of their website is extremely user-friendly and cheerful. To summarize, they ask you some questions about the nature of your blog, the topics you like to blog about, and also a bit about yourself in order to get the full pic

Blast From The Past: Ads That Just Don't Work Anymore

Image
As humans we have a tendency to believe that our current behaviours and beliefs are stable and that as such they won't differ much from those that will be part of our lives twenty or thirty years from now. As portrayed by the pictures below, we couldn't be more wrong. Times have changed and with them our ideologies and expectations have shifted. What once was widely accepted and common is now seen as inconceivable and rare. When I look at these illustrations today I can't help but wonder what we will think of our current lifestyle three or four decades from now. It is evident that one of the main goals of the human race is to evolve and to reinvent itself and for those reasons I am sure that some of our current practices won't be around in the future... but that will those be? Just something to think about. Enjoy. Now THIS I would have thoroughly enjoyed! Where can I get one of these?

The Power Of Fruit

Image
I was forwarded this article at work yesterday and since we all go through our ups and downs with our health I thought it would be a good idea to post it here. I have recently discovered that our bodies can heal themselves if we give them a chance and this is another great example of that. I hope you enjoy it: Dr. Oz on Eating Fruit - GOOD ADVICE FOR EVERYBODY. . . EATING FRUIT This is informative! We all think eating fruit means just buying fruit, cutting it up and popping it into our mouths. It's not that easy. It's important to know how and when to eat fruit. What's the correct way to eat fruit? IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUIT AFTER A MEAL!  FRUIT SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. Eating fruit like that plays a major role in detoxifying your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities. FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread, then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is rea

Who doesn't love free music?

Image
I really love living in these modern times where new artists can take advantage of social media sites and fan to fan marketing to promote their material. Music is a crucial part of my life and as such I'm always on the hunt for new beats that please my ears. Over the last few days I came across a new artist who allows for you to download his entire CD for free - in return just asking for you to his music amongst your friends and social circles. The name is Simon Curtis , the album is 8bit Heart , and the sound is an electro pop that will make you want to dance as you commute on the bus or drive in your BMW. In my opinion Simon has the whole package: the intriguing geeky-chic look, the androgynous voice, and the great electro beats. Two thumbs up! I hope you enjoy his album as much as I have... and remember... return the favour by spreading the word about him if you are so inclined.

Dreams DO come true!

Recently, I feel like my life has taken a 180 degree turn and that all things have finally fallen into place. In fact, everything is so perfect and smooth that it feels like I am living in a dream. If someone would have approached me two or three years ago and asked me where I would be living in the future I probably wouldn't have guessed it would be where I am now. A few months ago, my husband @guccisimo and I decided to start the journey of moving from Surrey back to downtown Vancouver. We started by noting the neighbourhoods and buildings we would like the most and by visiting SEVERAL open houses to narrow it down to a few select areas. The process of moving was very intense as we had to list our Surrey place and hope that it would sell fast so that we could start living our dream of waking up to the Vancouver skyline sooner rather than later. Thankfully, we have a family friend and realtor who managed to sell our condo in under three weeks. At that point we could almost ta

What is the reason LOOPT has not released this app in Canada? Sign this petition or this one to let LOOPT know how much Canadians want this! Thanks a lot!

MS Walk 2010

Image
This year I joined a team for the MS Walk to support my friend Kim Adams and all the people with multiple sclerosis who need help financially to get through life and to help increase funding for research so that one day they will find a cure. By supporting our team, you can make a difference in the life of someone with multiple sclerosis. Proceeds from MS Society fundraising events provide support and services to help those living with this disease, their families and caregivers as well as fund research with three primary goals: to find a cause and cure for MS, repair nervous system damage caused by MS and stop MS attacks. Here is my friend KIM's story: "It was less than two years ago when I was diagnosed with MS. Doing this walk the first time I barely finished and struggled the following days. A year later, thanks in part to support from family and friends, I have become incredibly strong, improved so much, and learned so many lessons. It will just keep getting bett
